U10 National Go Games

Huge congratulations to our fantastic Bunbrosna U10 girls who participated in the National Go Games Activity Day in Croke Park last Monday. This was an unforgettable opportunity for our young superstars to experience a significant occasion in Croke Park.

Well done to each and every one of our talented players who took part, and represented both our club and county with distinction. With the emphasis on fun throughout, all teams played four exciting matches and were awarded a medal for all their efforts afterwards.

Huge thanks to the parents, families, and our supporters who travelled up to cheer on the girls and see them in action! Thank you to everyone in our community who got behind the girls over the last few weeks. Thank you to the LGFA for this fantastic opportunity and experience and for a superbly organised day.

Finally, a huge well done to Roisin Foy and Ger Brennan for Co ordinating the logistics, gear, travel and coaching for the day. There was a huge amount of work involved in making this happen and we thank them for their efforts in making this a fun day for all.

National Go Games Refereeing

Congratulations and well done to Kate Reynolds who excelled on the national stage by representing our Club in Croke Park at the National U10 Go Games Activity Day on Monday last!

This was a fantastic opportunity for Kate, alongside a number of the other young aspiring referees selected for the day, who were stellar examples to the young girls playing on the pitch.

Go Games Blitz

Well done to our U8 and U10 boys teams that took part in a blitz at the pitch on Saturday when we hosted teams from St. Pauls GFC Clonmellon, Multyfarnham Gaa and Lilliput Gaels. We fielded two teams at each age group and had a great morning!

Huge thanks to everyone who helped out with parking, refreshments, fixture schedules, setting up pitches and all the other jobs behind the scenes too!

A massive thanks also to Cian Martin, Cian Gilchrist, Zach Timouny and Seamus Clarke who took responsibility for refereeing duties on the day. Well done boys.

Inny Shamrocks U14 League Final

Huge congratulations to our U14 Inny Shamrocks team who contested the Division 3 League Final on Sunday morning in Killucan.

When these teams met in the group phase in April, Killucan emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins so this was always going to be close affair with little to separate the teams. Indeed it was Killucan who settled earliest with a point before Zack Timouni finished off two sweeping moves with a goal and a point to settle any Inny nerves. We continued to have the better of the play in the first half and a goal from Patrick Wallace and Oisin Keena on frees had us up at half time by 2.4 to 0.2.

A further goal at the start of the second half by Zack at the end of another team move had us seemingly well in charge but Killucan were never going to give up without a fight and to their credit they came into the game with three goals of their own to close the gap. Not to be outdone, our lads battled hard themselves and two vital goals from Tomas O'Hora and a point from the lively Harry Brennan kept us in front until the final whistle and we emerged victorious on a scoreline of 5.6 to 3.4, an eight point win.

Sunday’s win was as a result of a tremendous effort from the entire panel and all are to commended on their efforts not just today but all year. The boys have a couple of weeks of downtime before we start our championship campaign.

Team: Cian Murphy, Oisin Clarke, Jack Cahill, Shane Kelly, Seamus Clarke, Liam Doyle, Michael Reynolds, Patrick Wallace, Oisin Keena, Tomas O'Hora, Harry Brennan, Sam Maher, Aaron Nally, Zack Timouni, Owen Nally, Oli Raeside, Peter Whelan, Ryan Reynolds, Donal Keena, William Connolly, Tomas Cafferky and Ciaran Wallace.
